WHO WE ARE
It all began over 22 years ago when Paul Crooks set up Paul Crooks Advertising. He had spent the previous 15 years as an art director and creative director in advertising agencies in London and Brisbane.
Paul Crooks Advertising grew from strength to strength, developing into an agency with local and national clients. The business now covers the full spectrum of advertising and publishing.
Seven years ago the agency had a “tree change” and relocated from Brisbane City to the Bunya riverside close to Albany Creek. Along with this came a change in business focus too. As an Albany Creek local himself, Paul along with his family, formed many friendships and connections through sporting clubs and organisations. That’s what sparked his current focus on local business.
In 2012, a growing interest in promoting local businesses resulted in a meeting of local businesses in Albany Creek. Out of this gathering emerged the first ever Albany Creek Buzz, which was published in January of the following year.
The Albany Creek Buzz was embraced by the local community strongly supported by local businesses. In return, Buzz supports annual local events such as ‘The Albany Fair’ and ‘Christmas in the Creek’. In 2017 the Albany Creek Buzz teamed up with local state member, Tim Mander and helped purchase a custom-designed mini bus for Youngcare, a not-for-profit organisation that had set up a new facility in Albany Creek earlier that year.
After the initial shock of Covid 19 in 2020 the Buzz responded by expanding its publications and creating the Trades and Services website which has become the go to website if you want to find a trustworthy professional local business.
